I was booked to have a Elixir Signature Massage at Habtoor Grand Beach and Spa’s Elixir Spa. However, my husband Mohamed, had a really tough week, so I rescheduled the spa treatment for him instead, and they were happy to make the change. I would, however, recommend that you book ahead of time because the spa is quite popular with the hotel’s guests and because of that you can’t really be guaranteed treatment if you’re a walk-in.
It’s located in the main hotel, towards the back. This is also a great place to relax after a good work out because the gym is right across from the spa.
After returning from the spa, Mohamed said his treatment was 60-minutes of pure bliss (which made me wish I had just done it instead!), and went on to describe how it was. The staff were incredibly welcoming and knew him by name. They were very organized and handed him a form to fill out, which inquired about any kind of medical issues that they may need to know about before continuing with this treatment.
After filling out the form, he changed out of his clothes and into a robe. His masseuse explained that the massage was 60-minutes long and meant to be a therapeutic treatment that relieves stress and relaxes the muscles, which just happened to be exactly what he needed at the time.
With the use of medium pressure and soothing oils, the masseuse worked on his achy body and even loosened a few tight knots on his shoulders. The techniques used were a mixture of effective and acute pressure along with relaxing touches.
After he was done with the massage, he stayed in the relaxing area and was asked if he would like to use any of the facilities, including the sauna and steam room. He opted not to because we were about to check out of the hotel soon after his treatment.
The Elixir Signature Massage is 450 Dhs.
