Jumeirah Beach Hotel – Talise Spa & Afternoon Tea

Last weekend my friend and I decided it was time for a little self-celebration, in light of Emirati Women’s Day — just a proper girls’ day involving a massage and food. We went to Talise Spa at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, followed by their afternoon tea, and it turned out to be one of those perfectly put-together experiences.

The spa feels calm without trying too hard. Everything is beautifully designed, clean, and quietly luxurious. I loved the steam room and the experience shower. Both felt like mini rituals in themselves. What stood out was how every detail had been thought of, right down to the products. The oils are gorgeous. I went for lavender, which set the mood before the massage even started.

The massage was an hour long and completely reset me. My therapist had that magical ability to get the pressure exactly right without me needing to say a word. By the end I was somewhere between asleep and awake. That dreamy state where you briefly forget what day it is.

Then came the afternoon tea, which began with a tropical welcome drink. It was passionfruity, fresh, and the perfect opener. The tea selection was impressive, with premium blends and unlimited refills of teas and coffees. The food looked beautiful. Savoury bites, elegant little desserts, all perfectly plated. My unexpected favourite was the watermelon granita. Light, refreshing, and the perfect balance to everything else.

The best part was how easy the whole afternoon felt. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was crowded. Every part of it felt considered. It was celebratory without being over the top. Indulgent without being fussy. Exactly the kind of vibe you want for a day out with your best friend.

Would I go back? Without hesitation. In fact, I might just turn it into a yearly tradition. Emirati Women’s Day, Self-Care Day, Random Tuesday. Any excuse will do.

If you are looking for a way to celebrate yourself or the women in your life, I recommend this pairing. Talise Spa plus afternoon tea equals pure girls’ day magic.
