Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai is one of the newer hotels on Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s right across from the World Trade Centre, on the Jumeirah side. It’s a great location for staycations, but also the perfect place for out of town-ers who want to be in a central location– its very close to Downtown Dubai, Dubai Mall, the beach, 15 minutes to the airport, and just footsteps away from many restaurants. We stayed here for a weekend, and it was absolutely delightful!
When I think of Dubai-standard luxury, the name Sheraton does not usually come to mind, but this new hotel proved me wrong! It’s absolutely luxurious and much more opulent than any other Sheraton I have been to. The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated and the staff are so friendly and professional. Our check-in took a while longer than we expected, but it turned out that the person who was assisting us was new and needed help. Once a more senior staff came in, the process was very smooth.
We stayed in a high floor room, but unfortunately didn’t have the best view. The hotel is shaped in a way that the people who stay in the middle of the building have a very narrow view on to Sheikh Zayed. That didn’t matter much because we’re not tourists, and our priorities were comfort and being well-taken care of, not the view. If you do want an exceptional view, make sure to ask them at the front desk, since this hotel is a perfect location for Sheikh Zayed Road views as well as ocean views.
The room itself is spacious and since Khalifa is a curious 1 year old who wants to crawl around everywhere, that was a huge (no pun intended) plus! The bathroom, shower and bathtub were amazing! I put Khalifa to sleep as fast as possible and took a lovely bubble bath, which didn’t last long because he woke up after 20 minutes; ahhh the things you take for granted when you don’t have kids… I digress. Now, the best part of the room was definitely the bed! If only I could have taken that bad boy home with me. It is HUGE cloud of absolute comfort! If I had the opportunity, I would have stayed in it all day long. Check out Khalifa claiming it:
I would have to wake up for breakfast though… Breakfast at Sheraton Grand is a whole other level of hotel breakfasts. The spread is huge and it has every possible breakfast option available. From traditional American to Asian to fresh smoothies and healthy options, this place has an amazing selection. They even have all types of coffees, fruits and breakfast-y mini desserts to enjoy after your done devouring your meal. The spread is right up there with any other high-end luxury resort breakfasts. These picture doesn’t do justice to the spread, but heres a taste of what they have:
We would definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to our friends who are here and abroad!
The price for one night is around 750 Dhs (during August 2015).
