Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is Dubai at it’s best. It’s absolutely breathtaking with it’s Arab-influenced decor and opulence, and it makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a sheikh’s palace. The SOUL Brunch offered at one of JZS’s gorgeous dining venues, Imperium, just adds to the feeling of luxuriousness. Walking into the restaurant, I’m reminded of Versailles. It’s so regal and every detail of the venue is so well thought out.

As we walked in, a Jazz band and singer were performing live. People were bustling around their tables and picking out their favorites from the buffet selection. I thought it would be more of a couple thing, but was delighted to see that there were so many families and kids around. They don’t have a specific kids section, but are definitely very family-friendly. We were kindly seated by the staff immediately and asked about the drinks that we would like and whether they should get anything specific for baby Khalifa. They were quick to bring a baby highchair and even a little bowl for him.

Now, this is a New Orleans jazz-themed brunch, so I was expecting loads of Cajun food– which they definitely did have, but what I didn’t expect was all the other kinds of cuisines that were there as well. A huge variety of food was laid out. There was a salad station, a whole table and tower of different kinds of breads, all kinds of meats and seafoods, plenty of vegetables, quiches and other breakfast items, carving stations, as well as a huge array of sweets. They had everything; from mini sliders to foie gras, grilled tiger prawns to truffle-infused scrambled eggs. If only I had a bigger stomach to be able to try all the things that caught my eye!

The chefs were also so kind and friendly and told us that although there was no specific kids’ food section, they would be more than happy to make anything that Khalifa enjoys eating. Seriously, how sweet is that?! Since Khalifa is a picky eater, but has never refused a french fry in his life, we asked them if they could make a small batch of fries for him, and they had it delivered straight to our table.

After getting full off of the salads and mains, we went to the dessert section, where not only is there a table full of different kinds of cakes, but also two side tables with arabic desserts and different kinds of bread puddings. In addition to that, there was a table with fruits and marshmallows and even a chocolate fountain! The chocolate fountain definitely did its job because the kids were absolutely loving it. For me though, I completely indulged on the cakes!

I absolutely love the vibe here. Although the brunch is held in such a gorgeous, fancy venue, it’s still very laid back and family-friendly. I would be more than happy to go back and enjoy great, live music and absolutely delicious food. Whether your a visitor to Dubai or you’ve been living here for years, going to Jumeirah Zabeel Saray will always make you feel like royalty. I would highly suggest booking your brunch in advance because the tables get packed quick!

The brunch costs 275 Dhs without alcohol, 395 Dhs with house beverages, and 495 with sparkling.
