Lunch and Dinner Buffets at Tides, Danat Jebel Dhanna– Restaurant Review

Tides is one of the restaurants at the wonderful beach resort, Danat Jebel Dhanna. During our 3-day/2 night stay, we came here several times. Now usually I don’t even like going to the same Friday brunch twice, because once you’ve seen a specific buffet one time, you’ve seen it all. Surprisingly though, Tides changed up the menu literally each and every time that we were there! There were so many different variations on the kinds of food that were served. I really didn’t get bored at all! Although the layout may seem like it doesn’

t carry a huge variety of foods, it really does! There were very few things that were repeated throughout these 3 days so you can really see how creative the chefs are.

There’s a wide array of starters, breads, salads, and even sushi for appetizers. The salads especially were very impressive and had loads of flavor.

There were also many arabic style appetizers including sambosa and kibbeh. Along with that there were Indian starters like pakorah as well.

For mains, there were so many options available each and every time we went was different. From melt-in-your-mouth slow roasted lamb, to all kinds of seafood, to English dishes like shepard’s pie and Asian dishes like Korean sesame beef– they were all delicious!

During each buffet, there were several different kinds of meats, fish and shellfish including ginormous prawns and lobster, ready to be grilled to your liking.

For drinks there are so many fresh juice options, and if your feeling really healthy, there is even a station for fresh fruit infused water! Along with that you can also order any of your favorite soft drinks and they are more than happy to bring it to you.

Now, my favorite part is all of the different kinds of desserts that they have! There are so many available regardless whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have quite a variety of different Arabic sweets, Indian desserts, cakes, mousses, fruity cakes, creme brûlée candy for the little ones, and even a chocolate fountain! The creme brûlée was so amazingly creamy and I was happy that it’s one of the few things that are repeated in the buffet spread. I looked forward to it every time we came to Tides!

The seating options are also vast. You can choose to be at the indoor restaurant area where all of the food items are displayed, or you can choose to be seated outdoors near the garden area. Since the weather is so perfect these days, we opted to sit out doors on most occasions, dining on the wonderful food, looking out onto the pool and beach area, and listening to the live music that’s played every evening.

It’s must-visit for dinner or lunch if you are staying in the hotel. Even if you aren’t staying in the hotel but live in the near by towns or are using a day pass at the hotel, the buffet spread is a great way to treat yourself and your family.

The lunch buffet is 174 Dhs per person, and the dinner buffet is 191 Dhs per person.
