On the second night of our stay at Amwaj Rotana, we had dinner at their Italian restaurant, Rosso. Its located on the same level as the pool and has a great outdoor vibe for dinner. Inside of the restaurant, there is lively bar area.
For our dinner at Rosso, I really wanted to try out several different starters, or anti-pastas instead of going for mains. We had fried calamari, eggplant parmesan, burrata, and a beef carpaccio with truffle salad. Everything was so delicious, but I must say that the burrata was especially good! It was creamy and perfectly paired with baby tomatoes and it had a beautiful pesto drizzle– yum!
I also really liked how perfectly crispy the fried calamari was. That dish was accompanied with thinly sliced and batter-fried vegetables, which put a nice fresh touch to it.
I don’t really eat meat, so my husband was the one to down the beef carpaccio, which he loved and I couldn’t help but pick off the truffle from it (truffle-aholic confessions). By the way, they are very generous with their truffles on that dish!
The eggplant parmesan was good, but a but too cheesy for my taste. It would be great for people who love extra cheese on theirs, but thats not really my thing. I’m more off a less-cheese is better kind-of person when it comes to that dish, but to each their own.
At night-time, I think this restaurant would be perfect for a girls dinner/drink, or for couples. During the day time, I’m sure it would be lovely for families and kids.
