The brunch’s name, Chocoholic Brunch, sounds just divine! I’ve heard about this brunch before, but this was the first time that I was trying it out for myself. We made our way from our gorgeous suite at Sheraton Hotel Mall of the Emirates, downstairs to their main restaurant, Sanabel.
Earlier that morning, we had breakfast at the same restaurant, but it had transformed into a bustling chocolate-themed venue for the Chocoholic Brunch. We got there a little bit late because we went to Friday prayer beforehand, and it was nearly 2pm by the time we got to brunch. Thankfully, we had a booking (and I would highly suggest that you call ahead of time and book as well), because it gets very busy. I mean, who could resist a chocolate-themed brunch?!
We had a choice of either sitting inside or outside, but we opted to sit inside because my little 1-year-old Khalifa was way too eager to hang around the indoor play area. The play area has two TVs and PS4’s for older children, as well as Lego’s, toys and kid-sized tables and chairs for the little ones. What I really liked about it is that its totally transparent, and its very easy to check up on your little one without having to go to a different room.
Now, for the good stuff– the food: The variety is incredible. There are so many different cuisines including Arabic, Indian, Asian and Western, and within those cuisines, there are numerous dishes. This brunch is sure to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.
My absolute favorite main was the Wasabi Prawns. It was so delicious that I could have filled up on that alone! I also really liked the roasts that the chefs specially prepare and cut in front of the guests.
I have to admit, I didn’t indulge myself on the appetizers and mains as much as I usually do because I was really saving up for desserts. Along with two large chocolate fountains in the main area of the buffet, two carts filled with pastries and a sweet crepe station, there is a whole room for desserts!
The room’s beautiful and intricate centerpieces are made of chocolate. Along with the many, many chocolate desserts there are also lighter sweets like profiteroles, eclairs, cakes, and fruits.
We couldn’t help but feel completely filled up after the brunch! The brunch is actually incredibly affordable, and one of the largest varieties that I have seen within that price range.
The Chocoholic Brunch starts at 199 Dhs per person including soft beverages; 299 Dhs per person inclusive of house beverages; and 399 Dhs per person including sparkling wine.
